It’s been a busy few months for the ECHO team and we always have lots of exciting news to share, which is why from this month onwards, we’re starting a monthly round up of all our activity. So, without further ado, here is the ECHO’s monthly round up for October!

Gena Casciano, VP of North America

We are pleased to announce Gena Casciano as our new VP of North America. Gina brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as Director of National Event Marketing at Macy’s. She also brings experience as Senior Director of Global Advertising from her time at American Express. We’re extremely excited to have her on board! Watch this space, as we quiz Gena in her ‘meet the team’ feature out next month.

Govia Thamelink Railway (GTR) sponsor the Sussex Economic Forum Gala Dinner

This month we were pleased to help organise the successful sponsorship of GTR Railway as the official sponsor of the Gala Dinner for the Sussex Economic Forum.

The Sussex Economic Forum will see many high-profile keynote speakers, debating some of the key issues affecting Sussex. One of which, is the ongoing and controversial disruption between Southern Rail and the unions. This disruption has caused many issues for businesses, their employees and passengers. We presented this opportunity to Govia Railway, who actually have part ownership of Southern Rail, as an opportunity to join the debate. Govia are keen to use this event as a platform to help explain and promote the transformation and modernisation of the railway in Sussex. As well as this, they also want to put into context the importance of rail travel and the changes needed to meet the growing populations need for travel by train.

Salford City Stadium Deal

The big announcement in the sponsorship world this month was the announcement of the naming rights for the Salford City Stadium. Revealed shortly after the new 5,000 seat capacity announcement, Salford City announced a major sponsorship deal with employment law firm, Peninsula.

Penninsula was founded by Salford-born entrepreneur Peter Done and is one of the major employers in the North West. It’s clear that such a lucrative deal, with a local entrepreneur, is obviously one which couldn’t be missed and reflects Salford’s’ local ethos, with Peninsula stating “Salford, as a city and community, means a huge amount to me; it was great to be able to contribute in a special way to the city where I was born, raised and still live, whilst raising the profile of Peninsula through this fantastic sponsorship opportunity.”

Going forward the stadium will be known as ‘The Peninsula Stadium’ in a landmark five-year deal.
